There were 10 members in attendance at Wild Bill’s in Lebanon. Items discussed were:
*Alternate activities that could be done after paddling, on a day when you want to get an early start home, or for non-paddlers. An activity in the Paint Creek area the day of Paddling Pig would allow those not paddling to join in the “pig-out” part of the day. An activity for Spring Fling would be conducive to a family-type of weekend.
*Safety in the form of prevention, such as breaking up large groups into more manageable smaller groups, having a “buddy system” on the river and insuring that all participants have proper equipment, including boat flotation. Newsletter articles will address these issues.
*As gas prices rise and the globe warms, carpooling is encouraged. Perhaps there will be a Carpooling Forum added to the website.
*The grace period for 2007 memberships expires on Feb. 15. There will be a newsletter mailed to all members on Feb. 1. Later newsletters will be emailed, unless you let one of the officers know that you need a mailed version, which costs the club approximately $1 each to print and mail.
*The 2008 trip schedule will be included in the March newsletter. If you want to coordinate a trip, please let Kathy Sines know as soon as possible.
