There are so many activities going on Labor Day weekend we might need an entire week to get it all in. Paddling, mountain biking, ATVing, drinking, eating, laughing....well, you get the picture.
My personal schedule is as follows:
Friday-ATV
Saturday-Paddle (back in a kayak!)
Sunday-Paddle
Monday-ATV
Tuesday-morning-ATV
For those that can get to WV Thursday night, I suggest doing something local to our area. As far as I know, there is no ATV rental close by however. If you have the means to travel and haul, search google for the closest. Hauling options may exist if you talk to your fellow ATVers, you know who we are!
On Monday, I will be doing the Hatfield-McCoy trail Pinnacle. Since at least one rider I know of can't arrive until late Friday, Monday is the day for this. ATV rental is adjacent to the trail with no trailering required. The rental vendor is http://www.happytrailsatv.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/. I will be leaving early Monday morning, or perhaps late Sunday night if the Bad Juans run out, to head an hour south to the area. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Pineville,+West+Virginia.&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&split=0&gl=us&ei=wh6VStXzIMGltgfTh6FP&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=title&resnum=1 A one year permit is $50 which is included if you rent through the above vendor. I am still investigating camping.
