Well Sunday The Michelle Eric and I decided to run Lees creek since it was a balmy 40 something. Michelle and I have never ran this creek before and was excited about Trying out this backyard run. At the put in we noticed the new white boulders (big a$$ slabs o ice) along the river bank. As Eric warmed up on the put in wave he noticed that the new white boulders slamming into his boat. Less than a mile into the run we had to portage a large tree across the creek. During the portage I noticed that my feet were going numb Because I smartly left my socks at home This was the start of my downward spiral. We were all enjoying the refreshing water when "the incident" happened. I will not go into details unless someone else wants to post it as i only want to embarrass myself. But that led to another hike up a muddy cliff and near some houses that had me hoping that i didnt have a pretty mouth. We finally got back to the river after a 1/4 mile detour then Eric and The Michelle had to put up with me crying worse than an 8 year old girl:girlpower: . We ran the last 3 to 4 miles without incident except for a tree that attacked me in an eddy. We watched Eric play on some nice waves and run the last rapid that was too much for my whiney butt and my sister to take on. We arived at the takeout safely and Eric earned a case of beer for putting up with my whineing and the Michelles messing around. Thanks Eric!!!!!
Anyways This is a Great semi local class 2-3 run with what looked like lots of play that I will enjoy doing again when the weather gets warmer or I get better cold weather gear.
